International Women's Day 2021

On Monday the 8th of March International Women's Day was celebrated worldwide. At Sirius College we celebrated IWD throughout the week. This year’s theme was #ChoosetoChallenege - encouraging our students to stand up and speak up when it comes to gender inequality. Activities throughout the week fundraised for selected women's charities. These activities included lunchtime Kahoot, badge making, viewing of the movie “Hidden Figures” which is based on a true story, and wearing purple accessories. Displays of inspirational women went up all around the school. Students and staff also took part in the #ChoosetoChallenge photo task which were displayed alongside our inspirational women displays throughout the school. We hope these activities generate discussion amongst our students and contribute to positive change for the future of all women in society. Thank you to the SRC and the International Women’s Day Committee for planning, organising and supervising all of the activities and displays.
